Robertians
Descended from the Robertians, counts of Paris and dukes of the Franks, this family came to the throne at the end of the 9th century. Odo, hero of the siege of Paris (885-886), was elected king in 888. The Robertians alternated with the Carolingians on the throne before establishing themselves for good with Hugh Capet in 987.
