Robert I
King of West Francia · 922-923 · born on 15 August 860, died on 15 June 923
Son of Robert the Strong and brother of King Odo, Robert was one of the most powerful lords of West Francia, and the father of Hugh the Great, ancestor of the Capetians.
In June 922, while Charles III the Simple was still king, he was elected king of the Franks by the great men. He was killed on 15 June 923 at the battle of Soissons, facing the deposed king. His son-in-law Raoul succeeded him.
