Jean Casimir-Perier

President of the Republic · 1894-1895 · born on 8 November 1847, died on 11 March 1907

Grandson of Minister Casimir Périer, Jean Casimir-Perier became President of the Republic in 1894, after the assassination of Sadi Carnot.

Discouraged by the weakness of the office, he resigned in January 1895, six months after his election. He died in 1907.
