Louis XIX
King of France · 1830 · born on 6 August 1775, died on 3 June 1844
Eldest son of Charles X, Louis-Antoine of France bore the title of Dauphin. After the July Revolution, his father abdicated on 2 August 1830 in his favour: according to a historical tradition, he was then king of France for about twenty minutes, before renouncing in turn in favour of his nephew, Henry, Count of Chambord. This reign remains disputed: the abdication act does not proclaim him king under the name Louis XIX.
He spent the rest of his life in exile and died in 1844.
