Alexandre Millerand

From the National Bloc, Alexandre Millerand became President of the Council and then President of the Republic in 1920. His wish to involve himself in politics earned him the accusation of violating the spirit of the institutions.
After the victory of the Cartel des gauches in 1924, he was forced to resign.
