Clodomir

King of the Franks · 511-524 · born in 495, died on 21 June 524

Son of Clovis and Clotilde, Clodomir received the kingdom of Orléans in 511. With his brothers, he took part in the campaigns against the Burgundians.

He was killed in 524 at the battle of Vézeronce. His kingdom was divided between his brothers Childebert and Chlothar. His three young sons were taken in by their grandmother Clotilde: two of them were murdered by their uncles, while the third, Clodoald, took refuge in a monastery.
