Clotaire III

King of the Franks · 657-673 · born in 650, died in 673

Eldest son of Clovis II and Bathilde, Chlothar III became king of Neustria and Burgundy in 657, under the regency of his mother Bathilde, and then under the influence of the mayor of the palace Ebroin.

He died in 673, very young. His succession opened a period of turmoil in which the mayors of the palace disputed real power.
